French photographer of Laotian origin, member of the VU agency in Paris. He has been following the transformation of Iraqi Kurdistan for 35 years. For his portraits of Iraqis, he won the first World Press Photo prize. He worked as an aid worker and later as a war photographer. His work has been published in the international press, including Le Monde, GEO, NYT, NZZ. He is the author of a number of photographic books, the latest of which was published in Czech under the title V krajině granátovníků.
