Polish reporter and journalist, focusing on Eastern and Central Europe and the former Soviet Union. His first book report, Królowie strzelców. Piłka w cieniu imperium, shows the interconnectedness of sport and politics in Soviet Russia and behind the Iron Curtain, primarily from the perspective of the football field. It was published in Czech this year under the title Králové střelců. Sport ve stínu impéria (Absynt, translation by Martin Veselka). He won the prestigious Nike Literary Award (from the jury and readers alike) for his book Kajś. Opowiéść o Górnym Ślasku, which focuses on the history and identity of his native region. The author’s latest book Odrzania: Podróz po Ziemiach Odzykanych is a reporter’s journey from Silesia to the Baltic and will be published in Czech in 2025.
