Guest of the book fair Svět knihy Praha 2025
Born in Bratislavam Slavic and English studies at universities in Cologne, Munich and London. Since 2010, she has been translating and promoting Slovak literature, and together with her husband Peter Sherwood she has translated the works of many Slovak authors, including Ján Johanides, Ján Rozner and Leopold Lahola, into English. She also translates into English from Czech and Polish and into Slovak from English, Russian and Polish. She edits The Slovak List for Seagull Books. For ten years she was an external editor of the literary magazine Asymptote and in 2020-2021 she conducted podcast interviews LIT_CAST Slovakia for the Slovak Literary Centre. She also promotes Slovak literature through presentations and on the SlovakLiterature.com portal, which she runs with M. Mullek.
